The ABS Platform

Our unique delivery system integrates a patented drug-eluting stent with catheter interaction. The platform’s delivery-stent integration system is designed to treat all bifurcations through a simple and rapid procedure – scaffolding lesions without stent deformity. Our systems are coated with a fourth-generation, non-durable polymer previously approved by the FDA.

ABS Provisional Stent

PROVISIONAL Side Branch Stenting

The modular platform consists of an independently movable dual-catheter system. The daughter catheter is pre-threaded through a sleeve on the mother catheter. The sleeve located proximally to the partially crimped stent ensures co-axial movement of the catheters. Please note that the mother and daughter catheters move independently prior to the deployment of the stent. The ultra-low profile dual monorail system is designed to mitigate wire wrap. Primary inflation of the Sidebranch balloon orients the stent to the side branch. Alignment, phase shift, and orientation are automatic. The stent is flared into the ostium of the sidebranch. With guaranteed sidebranch access, provisional stenting of all bifurcations can be undertaken regardless of the extent of disease in the sidebranch. The use of this system does not require a new skill set by the implanting physician

Independently moveable, modular system

Please note that the mother and daughter catheters move independently prior to the deployment of the stent. The ultra-low profile dual monorail system is designed to mitigate wire wrap. Alignment, phase shift, and orientation are automatic with our system and delivery mechanism. A modular bifurcating stent is assembeled at the carina as depicted in the animation. The mother stent is flared into the ostium of the sidebranch and becomes contigious with the daughter vessel stent. The use of this system does not require a new skill set by the implanting physician

The side hole is oriented toward the side branch over the shaft of the daughter catheter, rather than just the side-branch wire. The pullback of the daughter catheter into the mother stent, facilitated by the mother catheter sleeve, rotates the mother catheter and stent as necessary. Finally, inflating the daughter balloon, which partially deploys the proximal segment of the mother stent simultaneously with the daughter stent, guarantees perfect positioning as well as coverage of the ‘vulnerable zone.’ This is why our stents are designed to evenly scaffold every bifurcation. Our systems are sized based on Murray’s law, eliminating the need for additional balloons to complete the procedure.

Modular Bifurcating Stent by Advanced Bifurcation Systems

This brief animation illustrates rapid deployment of a bifurcating stent in a simple procedure with guaranteed sidebranch access and no stent deformity, not possible with any technique or system at this time. A vessel bifurcation with a 1, 1, 1 plaque pattern is depicted. The ABS system ensures automatic alignment and precise positioning of the bifurcating stent with symmetrical deployment.
